When her husband organized a surprise holiday away for her birthday, Helen wasn’t keen to be away so long from her horses.
Upon discovering that her horses were coming too, she then got to worrying that there might not be a shower, thinking camping would be the order of the day…. lucky for her, (and I think, him !!) Kieran already had it all covered – he’d done his homework to find us and his initial enquiry to us told us that the ability to cater for the Horses Holiday Destination was his main criteria! Obviously, he knows his girl well!!
So – along with welcoming Kieran and Helen, we have had the pleasure of hosting their two beautiful creatures, Penny and Doofy this week to celebrate Helens big birthday. While they were here, the horses enjoyed the space of their own paddock, fenced to ensure visiting dogs are kept at arms length. There is plenty of shelter among the trees and a good source of fresh dam water for them. Their float is parked in the paddock next door and the humans in the party are within walking distance to their 4 star self contained cottage in the bushland nearby. They have been out and about riding at the coast and taking local rides straight from the property into the Otway Forest Park.
In the past we’ve had three generations of a family staying who brought their childrens’ ponies along for the trip. It was fabulous to see them riding the wide bush walks around the property and difficult to tell who enjoyed the holiday more – the humans or equine guests!
We love seeing these majestic creatures in our paddock and giving the whole family the joys of holidaying together. Our neighbours horses always get a thrill to see some new mates across the fence too!
So – if you are looking for a great spot to take your horse with you on holiday, you’ve come to the right place! We supply the fabulous self contained cottage here in the Otways for you, the space and paddock for your Horses Holiday Destination and long lovely riding trails for you all. We’ve even got a pooper scooper. What more could you want?
